Wilco’s Nels Cline and his brother Alex Cline are releasing freakishly coincidental albums. There was really nothing to complain about if your expectations were correct when you got there. Verlaine did the same boring crap he has been doing for 10 years. The SY set could have been longer and contained at least SOME melody. Their set was the only disappointed of the night. Nels set was great, but only because of the pairing with Norton Wis recent CD reviews by Richard Gehr on AARP’s music blog, Music for Grownups - includes both David Witham and Nels Cline Singers reviews. Wilco recently cancelled an outdoor concert in Duluth, Minnesota when guitarist Nels Cline came down with chickenpox. For their return concert, local screenprinter Starfire is hosting a “Nels Cline Gave Me the Chickenpox” T-shirt design contest. Wilco will play outdoors in Duluth on Tuesday, Sept. 4th with Low as their opening act. Wilco have been forced to cancel two upcoming performances scheduled for this week after guitarist Nels Cline contracted the chicken pox. Some of Wilco’s dates within ‘Sky Blue Sky’ tour in North America are rescheduled after guitarist Nels Cline was caught chicken pox. A review of the new album from Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and his band the Nels Cline Singers, Draw Breath. Nels is now best known for his association with Wilco, but he has a long history of making improvised experimental music with a variety of musicians, and this album is in that vein. Rolling Stone gives it up for what it thinks are the 20 “New Guitar Gods”. Good to see Derek Trucks and Nels Cline getting a nod.
